Top Secret Clearance
...In a nut shell, I'm trying to broaden my options. Where can I look for jobs that are hiring people who currently have Top Secret Clearances and mechanical back grounds?

Don't worry I thought about that before posting it. I'm not jobless and I wont be for quite some time, just trying to locate some information to start researching for the future...few years down the road. Simple homework and I thought I would ask some of the lovely people on m3post.

Don't top secret clearances, etc. go with a position or a need rather than with a person? In other words, wouldn't you lose your clearance once you leave the circumstances that triggered the need in the first place?

Agencies that require any type of clearance don't care if you already have the clearance or not. They want to know if you are skilled to do the job. Being able to obtain clearance is secondary in the selection process - like medical exam or physical fitness, etc.

Clearances are extremely expensive and such...I'm sure its skills and the clearance that matters. I could have both for the right particular job or be gaining the other particular skills very soon.

I would assume he has clearance because he is already in the armed forces and he's stationed overseas? Also, are you seriously going to make fun of Germans on a BMW site?

I get hit up all the time by someone looking for a sysadmin with clearance.
Apparently in my field people are either criminals, foreigners or drug addicts, so employers having a really hard time filling positions.
