Audi S5 in NYC
Drove by the Audi dealership On Park Ave the other day and what do I see in the window, a brand spanking new red s5. Damnn.......its really hot in real life guys. The Audi is not my type of car, a little to feminine for me, but still I have to give them credit.I didn't have enough time to grab pictures of the car, but I'm sure some of you are from NY and have seen the same car. If you drive by and take pictures please post. All I have to say is that this Audi has done a great job with the A5 targeting not the BMW 3 series, but the CLK. Its much more lux then sport.

Yeah, I always thought Audi had a very masculine look. Conservative (till the new grill), but still kinda a short/stocky look.

Not its not... They are using the next gen A4 platform. Its not even close in proportion to the 6ers eaither...

The S5 is more A6 size, it does use the new B8 platform that the new A4 is going to use, but the A/S5 is nearly the same size as the A6 and the new A4 is going to grow too. Audi have said it is taking on the 6 series more than the 3 series.
Problem you have with this will be the same as all Audis, they just don't have the balance and handling comapred with a BMW, now for some people this is not a problem but for others that is why we are on here and not on audizine. |

wrong, it is targeted toward the 335 because the normal a5 only has about 255hp and u know audi wont cut it short to compete with a bmw

They had a red S5 at the NYC car show, next to the R8 that was my favorite car, it's gorgeous. I love my 335 but if that were out at the time it would have been a tough choice.

I dont understand why people think the A5/S5 is targetting the 6 series. Look:
Audi A5 = BMW 3 Series Audi S5 = BMW 335i Audi RS5 = BMW M3 I know the Audi looks huge, trust me, its mostly because of the lines, but the A5 is a 3 series competitor. Audi has mentioned this explicitly. Another thing I dont understand is why EVERYONE compares the new M3 to the RS4. I mean, a 4 door saloon will be heavier than the coupe. Apart from that, they both have great engines. 420hp V8s...Anyway, my last point is that the RS5 is the real M3 competitor. Should be very interesting. BMW M3 vs. Audi RS5 vs. Lexus ISF vs. Merc CLK63 (is this true? I mean it will cost around £80k)

S5 looks great. I like what Audi is doing with the LED headlight jewels as found on the R8. Audi has this and BMW have their angel eyes.

The new S5 looks beautiful! But anyone noticed how the duration of the spyshot to the production is only about 2 months for the A5/S5 compared to the 2 year antipation of E92!
