what do mean huh? This has been going on in europe forever. In fact you can get the same engines in a 6 they make a 630 and 635i. Where is the confusion?

omg they did it with the
130i, 330i, 530i, X3 and the Z4 all had the same 3.0 liter engine as an option, why wasnt anyone crying then? 550i, 650i, 750i all had the same v8 M3, Z4M 3.0 liter inline 6 M5, M6 v10 Last edited by herbz; 07-05-2007 at 11:08 AM.. |

Do you think that BMW is dumb enough to create different engines for each car? Its called Economies of Scale. You keep production costs down by leveraging as many parts across as many lines as possible.

Aside from reducing overall cost, it suggests to me that BMW has a lot of faith in the durability and tunability of this engine (to put it in several models).
Or they have a death wish...time will tell. |
