E9X forums more mature than E46
I just came from e46fanatics after getting my 2009 335i Coupe. No one told me that a pleasant group of folks came with the car!
Seriously though.. Over at the E46 scene it is ridiculous. I can remember stating MY opinion about certain topics and people telling me I'm wrong. How I can be wrong about an opinion.. Beats me. Obv the maturity level is mainly because our e9x's cost a bit more so for the most part we are older and it's not a typical high school/college boy car. I actually find the forums here pleasant and check them frequently just to read what's being said today. Always find something useful and/or entertaining |

It is a good group of people here. I do think it has way more to do with the price of the cars than it does with anything else, and its not necessarily the kids that screw it up, but people with low self-esteems who's internet penis is about 239487x larger than in real life so as to compensate.
Just my 2 cents though. |

I think we all have been there. Most of us here also came from e46fanatics and I suppose having more experience and being more serious in life makes the difference. I myself can confirm that.

UnfortunatelyI have a feeling the E9x crowd will be @ the E46fanatic crowd in the next couple years tops. As the price drops, so does the average owners age.

I find the F30 forums to be more mature than the E9x forums.
So yes, $$ and professionalism do play a role in mannerisms on the board. Few 20 year olds are modding and buying $55k F30 335s. Quote:

Just wait. Price of used e90 is coming to be in reach for clueless 16yo that will be bragging about how they make donuts on the high school parking over the week end...

Exactly. Unfortunately, at the price of e90's goes down, so will the maturity of the board members. I wish I could say my generation isn't part of this decline, but I can't (and I'm 27).

Haha, i've been a member of both boards and I still browse both just as often. The only reason I am still there is for the humor in OT...

Neither are those of us in grad school......
I had to take a bit of a hiatus from here though because the threads were becoming so stupid for a while. It seems to have evened out for the most part, but I also don't check here quite as much. I usually just check the daily news update and then check to see if I have notifications (but I don't really say anything stupid so why would I lol?) and then move on. |

I want to say that both groups are generally the same. Both forums have those few people who say that your opinion is straight wrong. lol.

e46=cheaper=more young people can afford it.
e90=Cheap=slightly older people can afford it. Plenty of highschoolers and college kids on here. |
