** Official Bimmerpost Photo Contest #67 | At Night

•Post a pics that's taken at night, I'm looking for any pics of a typical situation, event, activity that normally happens at night/evening.

SUBMISSION WILL CLOSE ON SUN 27/01/2013 11:59PM GMT

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 1024 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024 px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

The land of the midnight sun

Clouds aglow.
At twilight some low clouds came in and picked up the glow, I thought it looked better at this point than when it goes dark and all you see is the plume. It looked much better than presented.

My daughter, Shella, sent me almost the exact image, but with a guy dancing in front of the lava glow.

No Dave, just my wife, me and 25lbs of camera. We went to HVNP 4 times and saw what I needed to see. That one was probably from Volcano House and hers was from the Jagger museum most likely. I tried Jagger one time but it was too windy for the long exposures necessary. Halemaʻumaʻu crater is something like 500' wide and my picture was with a 135 uncropped at ~2.1 miles to give you some scale of that hole.

Just realized the cutoff is GMT so I won't be able to shoot something new, although this image was shot last week on my road trip through Tail of the Dragon near Robbinsville, North Carolina, USA, in the Great Smoky Mountains. So it's technically new. (I've made it a goal to try and shoot something new for each of these contests)
