Wow...that car is simply incredible. Here's one question I have - at what point does it really become about the driver and not the car? Do they have 5 different drivers try it out and take the best time, or is that too insulting to the number 1 guy? I've seen some pretty large deviations on the Nordschleife times, on the order of like 20-30 seconds for a similar car. I realize some of this could be conditions.
Anyways, very cool that P broke the 7 min mark, that's got to be really symbolic. I guess now Mclaren has their work cut out for them. |

LOVE this car The sound alone from the 4.6l flat crank V8 is phenomenal! I wish the P1 was on the same level sound wise but its not. 845k does'nt sound like such a bad deal for what this car is shelling out.

Porsche has ALWAYS been the King of the Ring. No exception here.
This is simply THE most stunning and best display of power, technology, handling and design the world has seen. Too bad Ferrari cant make cars that look this good anymore. Plus this marks another first. The first street legal car to break 7 mins. All others will just be following in their footsteps. There is no substitute...and there never will be. Some good alternatives but part of the reason why no matter what I drive, I will always say Porsche makes THE BEST CARS IN THE WORLD, HANDS DOWN! |

From 7:14 during the prototype stage to 6:57 for the actual road car I'd say that's a large leap. Total development start to finish was 3 years... these guys were not playing around.
I wish they had an arm that continued to develop the older platform and provide upgrade opportunities like Pagani did with the Zonda and McLaren with the F1. As a side note to this story I would have loved to read about upgrades to the Carrera GT. |

Different drivers? White helmet in some shots, blue in others.

McDonalds has ALWAYS been the King of the Burgers. No exception here.
This is simply THE most stunning and best display of onions, cheese , mustard and ketchup the world has seen. Too bad Wimpy cant make burgers that look this good anymore. Plus this marks another first. The first street legal hamburger to break 7 layers. All others will just be following in their footsteps. There is no substitute...and there never will be. Some good alternatives but part of the reason why no matter what I say , I will always say Smith & Wesson makes THE BEST GUNS IN THE WORLD, HANDS UP! Cheers Robin |

^In the in car vid you see the incredible traction(awd) and balance. Schwedenkreuz I guess >220 kmh and Fuchsröhre 280kmh as I read somewhere.
And it still is a big fat car overall(due to the batterypacks) If Sportauto carmag is going to test it(Horst von Saurma or better Christian Gebhardt, Horst is getting a tad old I guess) next year or so I hope they can manage 7:20 or better. Cheers Robin |
