Thumbs up 135i coupe vs. E46 coupe (real life photos)

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2161

No wonder the e46 guys like the 1er coupe more than e90 folks, it looks more an evolution of the e46 design.

good point... but it does look like it is a crushed e46... i don't like the REALLY short wheel base.

Isn't the 1'er built on the E46 chassis? The hatch version of this car has been out in Europe for a few years now, its not like this a completely brand new car. The engine/drivetrain is different, and now its offered in a coupe version, but i'm sure that they are still using the same chassis for it. Can anyone confirm this?

I think that the single major flaw with its design is the headlight shape...wtf were they thinking when they made those? Eyelids should be popular for sure. Other than that I like it (kinda turned off by the droopy lower character line). I like that trim on the passenger side of the interior on the IP. Looks like a mix between brushed alum/polished silver.

Personally the only color I've seen that looks great on this car is white. All the other ones make it look like doodoo.

It is build on the current e90 chassis and the use of the new chasis on the 1 Series (from day one) preceded the launch of the e90 in Europe.

The e46 chasis are used by the X3 (in modified form), and the Z-class.

I like the one a lot. I just wish the headlights were a little smaller

No, that's why its chasis designation is E81. And the coupe has an reinforced chasis over the original hatchback.

looks like something a 16yr old would drive, the only great thing is the engine on the 135i a middle aged 6ft tall guy would look kinda fruity in the drivers seat IMO

LOOKS LIKE A MIDGET 3-series!!!

Ok, thanks for the info... never been into the 1'er too much so i'm not too informed on it. So, was the original hatch version based on the E46 or was that just some BS that I read on a car forum?

Wow, that black 135i looks TINY. I love black cars, but I think I prefer the 135i in other colors.
