Which ones would you select from the past and the present? Classic T/As had style, and the Chrysler SRT8 Core seems to represent modern muscle best. I guess this is about some models we would like to own, space and money permitting, lol.

Everyone has their own cars for their own reasons. I have a couple of offers on my 67 GTO which I plan to sell once my divorce is final and it is no longer an issue, which it hasn't been yet. It is a good 30 ft driver. I bought it because the price was right. I have a 72 Barracuda which I will roll that money into, which is complete, but stripped to a rolling chassis right now. I had a '70 'Cuda in high school, but am not willing to pay the price that the '70 or '71 command. I have had Camaros, Trans Ams, Corvettes, Dusters, Tempests, Satellites, and motorcycles. Each one had its own personality. While I love the nostalgia and the raw power of the old cars, they can not hold a candle to the handling and reliability of the new. My 67 GTO rated at just over 300hp would run all over my 2001 WS6 TA rated at 325 hp, but trying to control body roll or stop all that weight with 4 wheel drum brakes was a chore. I, personally, am partial to the old Mopars and AMC's due to the fact that they aren't seen everywhere like Camaros and Mustangs. To each their own. I have an appreciation for pretty much all automobiles and the legacys that they leave, good or bad. I guess back to the original question, the E-body Mopars have always been my favorite!!!

There is a huge aftermarket for popular pony cars and muscle cars in terms of update engines, suspension, a/c etc This seems to be a relatively recent development compared to the days when people were just looking for all original zero miles cars.

Yeah, and echoing the sentiment on common muscle cars, where did all these 1970-73 shape Camaros appear from all of a sudden? It's like an epidemic!

When pollution controls, CAFE struck in the late '70s the gray market offered some interesting stuff, don't think you could call 'em muscle cars though.

Cobra is #1. Then I like all mustangs, caramaro, firebird, GTO, 442. I seem to like 1967 and older in most of the muscle cars. 70 and above they just got to big.

For years the Porsche 928 got criticized for being an upscale C3 Corvette, so maybe it should be here. By the end of its run it had a 350 hp V8, so it qualifies on power and rear drive V8 format. Styling kinda looked like a squashed Pacer though, lol.

67 Chevelle is better looking than the 68+ Chevelle but I would love a 70 Chevelle SS 454 LS6. Thats for the past.

For the present.....the 2015 Chevrolet SS, since manual is an option for this year model!

I've owned many muscle cars over the years and 66 GTO is my favorite, but with that in mind when I went looking for a project I wanted something I didn't see every day and ended up doing a 65 Buick Riviera. 445 wildcat engine with 445ftlbs torque, 2 doors and power everything, seats windows, antennas. No its not the fastest car out there, but that's not why a built her.

It was a sad day when Lincoln Mercury dealers stopped selling the Pantera. Never had an exotic car been so accessible. And the Ford 351 CJ motor was effective, even with smog gear.

The Olds Rallye 350 had classic musclecar looks and paint.
