meet this girl on Match about 3 weeks ago. We exchange AIM addreses and we start communicating. Over the past 3 weeks, she IMs me just about everynight. Early last week, I ask her if shes free for the weekend (this weekend that just past). She says "not sure". The next day, once again she IMs me. I ask her again? , her response was the same "not sure". The next morning, she text messages me on my phone saying that saturday is good for her. We go out this past saturday. 3 1/2 hours together. Convo was ok. Didnt flow as smoothly as it should. There were times where there was "akward silence" but not for too long. She gives me a hug goodnight. Doesnt say she had a good time nor does she say "call me". I was left with the impression that it didnt go well. The next night (last night) she Ims me on AIM!!!!. Whats her deal?? She did in fact say during the date that she was procrastinating going out because she was in a relationship that ended only 2 months ago. So maybe shes not sure what shes doing? Date didnt seem to go well, but she IMs me the next day??????

Nah she's prolly nervous. She's putting herself out there. There was a study done recently about AIM. It was on cnn. Look for it. Something about how most young adults resort to AIM because it's faceless. Kinda like e90post. There are no real consequences for the words said and your date made everything seem a lot more real.

I read an article on this. Lots of young kids in today's day and age have issues communicating under stressful environments face to face. They are more comfortable talking about intimate topics or having fights via IM and text message. Considering neither one of you wanted to hit up the bars and pick up the opposite sex the good old fashioned way for whatever reason, it is completely understandable that you both would have problems having a conversation over dinner and then trying to move in and make a move at the end of the date. I don't mean to be an ass but I'm not beating around the bush.

At 24 if a girl doesn't want to hook up even a little after the first date then you need to drop her because she isn't into you.

I miss New England, I think I get along with people better there, but DC is fun to go out in. Roads suck down here, so many pot holes and bottomless cracks it makes storrow drive look like a well groomed race track. I am thinking about coming back for the long thanksgiving weekend, we'll see.
