iphone 4s on t-mobile?
Anyone doing this? My friend can get me a deal for $200 unlocked for a 16gb. Im worried that the data speed will be too slow compared to my galaxy s(1).
thoughts/advice? UPDATE i just said screw it and bought it anyhow... worse comes to worse i figure i can likely sell for profit. Last edited by txz4; 10-24-2011 at 07:14 PM.. |

4S, as with all previous iPhones doesn't support T-Mo's 1700MHz HSPA upload band, so the fastest data connection you can have is EDGE (2G), capped at about 115 kb/s.

I did it by paying full retail for an ATT iphone 4s at apple store and it was unlocked automatically. The speed was too slow on tmobile so I went with a GS2(which is blazing fast) and returned the 4s. Here is my post on it. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=330

this is done so traveling sprint/verizon customers can slip their international SIMs and use them, instead of ridiculous rates that AT&T customers have been typically forced to pay. |

I have the Verizon iPhone 4S and it does have a SIM card, and is required to have a connection. Instead of plastic, it's made of some weird rubber thing.
The iPhone 4 CDMA, however, does not take SIMs. |

yep, and now that people have discovered that sprint 4ss are unlocked, the demand for them has gone up. They go for up to $1k on ebay.

This is why I don't like having these phones in the first place. Way too much money in something that can be stolen/lost easier than anything else I own. |
