It's not for everyone, as stated before, the switch was strictly for practical reasons. (Carrying all of my camera equipment)

Those tiny rotors make the rotors look tiny. haha
Truly, to each his own as it absolutely is your decision and choice on what to drive.

Yet you just wrote that your decision was made for "practical reasons".
Practical reasons?
A huge, heavy truck with a V8, equipped with 24" heavy unsprung weight wheels and tires, is practical?
"Practical" is not the word that comes to mind.

I do video and photography work as well. These days nearly all my work is done in a studio. But years ago I spent a lot of time doing video and photography in the field. So, I'm not sure what kind of photography equipment you carry on a daily working basis to call that huge truck "practical".

Trucks are utility vehicles as far as I'm concerned.
If you truly need room to carry gear, a used utility van would be much more practical for work, and then you can keep your 135i and drive it when not working.

I enjoy liking what I drive, and it being aesthetically pleasing.

I wasn't able to put all of my stuff into my 135i, so I had to opt for something bigger. I wouldn't be caught dead driving around in a van . The Tahoe gets ~2-4 mpg less than the bmw. So I'm not worried about it being a big and heavy v8.

As for things I have to haul, I have several strobes, stands, and even the occasional 9 foot seamless I gotta haul around. Also, when shooting out on the field I tend to take some clients (whole bands sometimes) in my truck so I want something nice and comfy for them as well. I think these are valid reasons to say it's "practical".

Nice Tahoe! It looks great.... How was it plasti-dipping the grille? Did you sand down the chrome before plasti-dipping? If not, do You think it will be a mission to remove it if for some reason you want to go back to chrome?

Sorry for all the questions it's just that I'm thinking of doing the same to my ctsv

Again nice Tahoe and great pictures!

Definitely don't sand down the chrome.

I used the plasti-dip in the spray can. it works awesome and if you ever decide to go back you simply peel it away.

It's much better than just spray painting it because it holds up so much stronger (doesn't chip), you don't have to prime or anything. Simply clean thoroughly and apply 3-4 coats and you're fine. I also did all of my emblems using this technique. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-s...-required.html

Hope that helps bud.
