Craigslist - To those who've used it before?
Hi All,
I’ve just signed up for craigslist yesterday to make a posting for a roommate under the "rooms & shares" section, yet I don't see it on the listings. I looked into my account and my ad is showing as active, but nothing is showing up on the listings. When I link it to my friends, they are able to see it, but it’s still not showing up with the other listings on the site. For those who have experience using craigslist, may you please tell me what am I doing wrong here? Thanks… Here is my posting: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/roo/2813283436.html Last edited by adobeee; 01-23-2012 at 02:06 PM.. |

Maybe it’s because I’ve used Imageshack to show my photos (not sure if CL allows for external image hosting links) or it might be because I’ve used common keywords that were associated with spam (although I don’t really see any) Anything is appreciated. Thanks a bunch |

I would just remake it, it could also be people flagging your post because they're not getting any calls on their apartment.

You can try reposting it, but using their photo uploader instead
also remember it takes some time for a post to show up, it's not instant (at least I don't think it is) I've listed plenty of tires and stuff and it's always taken a little while before they showed up

Who knew that a simple site like craigslist would be such a hassle to post on? I've read stories on how you need multiple ips, third-party software or perform other complicated tasks to just have a posting shown on the website. Apparently the website has crappy spam filters..or maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
I will let delete this posting and post again after a few days (since you can't repost for the sake of "bumping") and just use their image uploader instead. I'll just tell them to email me for larger pics of the room since the ones on the listing are low-res. I will let you know how it goes as part of my mission to help you guys out too. Thanks. |

You can realist it, If its marked as spam they will send you and email and you have to repost it again and change it slightly. Don't worry CL is full of "actual" spammers.

Craigslist is very easy to post on. How long did you wait before deleting the listing? Every single time I've posted on craigslist, it goes exactly as it did for you. I make the listing, with the link I'm able to see it, as well as others. It takes a while for it to show up in search results. Just be patient, not really a big deal.
