the only reason i prefer wireless is because it would be near impossible to hide speaker wires in the house.....

Are you looking for the entire house or for sound in one room? I recently bought a Bose setup for the TV, and it sounds great.

Try SONOS.... I guess it all depends how much you want to spend. Knowing you, you are looking for something good but cheap

I know JBL makes a wireless subwoofer. I have the wired subwoofer of theirs and it is great. I have it paired with a couple of Klipsch floor-standing speakers and powered by an Onkyo receiver. You can always use Apple's Airplay to wirelessly control your music throughout your home too, which is really nice.

http://www.aperionaudio.com/home.aspx I'm not affiliated with them in any way, other than being a happy customer. And they have a wireless system that I suspect is great quality (all of their stuff is great quality).
