H&R Coilovers Released for F30 3 Series (328i / 335i)
BIMMERPOST NEWS H&R Coilovers Released for F30 3 Series (328i / 335i) A new coilover option [see full F30 coilover list] is now available for the F30 3 Series, from H&R. The H&R Coil Over Street Performance Suspension (Part number: 28895-1) for the F30 328i and 335i has the following height adjustment range: Front: -1.5-2.6" Rear: -1.3-2.3" MSRP price: $1,680.00 Part number: 28895-1 Here is a description: The H&R Street Performance Coil Over kit takes the traditional shock/spring package one step further. H&R combines their progressive-rate springs with specially valved shocks and adds height adjusters that let you set the ride height to your own personal tastes. These coil overs are designed for street use with progressive rate springs that start out soft and stiffen as they are compressed. This helps to keep the ride compliant while still giving better handling and balance. H&R designs each suspension to work as a coil over. This means that the correct amount of travel has been built into each shock. And the shocks are valved specifically for the spring rates to give a tight and controlled ride without being harsh or ultra-stiff. Each H&R coil over is TUV tested and approved and meets ISO quality standards. These are used with the stock strut and shock mounts for a quick and easy install. Some photos and specs of H&R coilovers installed on F30 sedan (with BMW M Performance Parts): Specs: Base Vehicle: 2012 BMW 335i sedan 3.0L TwinPower Turbo 6-cyl 6-speed manual transmission Mineral Grey Metallic Chassis: H&R Street Performance Coil Over H&R Trak+ Wheel Spacers BMW M Performance Brake System 370mm front, 345mm rear Wheels & Tires: O.Z. Ultraleggera HLT white wheels, size 20x8.5” Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, size 235/35ZR20 front, 245/35ZR20 rear H&R Coilover system: |

Those figures seem like very aggressive drops. What is the drop on the car in pictures from stock height?

This car looked great in person, the white wheels were a great compliment. Really made me wish I'd had some patience and waited for the M-Sport. Good work H&R

With these coils, do I need to use my OEM top hats or w/e? Also since it uses OEM shocks struts and mounts, does it mean that the OEM ones will wear out faster?

Also, you can beat bang for the buck. They are listed @ $1680 MSRP but we sell them for $1527. If there is enough interest, we could get the cost down substantially with a Group buy on them. |

They look great, but do you know if they have sway bars in development, that's what the f30 platform needs ASAP.

This is listed for the H&R Coilovers:
Front: -1.5-2.6" Rear: -1.3-2.3" Does that mean that the MINIMUM lowering amount would be 1.5 inches for the front? What if you wanted *less* than 1.5 inches? Rich? Anyone? |

I had the H&R coilover system on my b7 S4. The ride was horrible, very harsh after 3,000 miles. I ended up selling them and picking up KWs and the difference was night and day.
Obviously these could be valved for more comfort than the S4 variant but just wanted to share and give people a heads up. |

so far not one review of a f30 member with these coilovers, im assuming they will be very stiff and harsh due to the reviews others have made in regards h&r coilovers and their their previous cars.
im personally waiting for bilstein shocks to come to the US, they went great with h&r springs. |

Im waiting for those bilsteins to go for sale already, That or koni shocks which i heard good things about. I believe there are members in europe who have bilsteins on their f30, but we need them here in the states! i refuse to simply put on aftermarket springs and not get upgraded shocks. |
