Including the 20-25 price range adds six additional 964s to the search results. I like this one best: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...ingId=99173706 The mileage is reasonable. So it does appear you can get the sort of car you want for the price you want. There are a few Porsche -specific websites that can give tons of info about what to look for when purchasing a 964. Good luck! |

My '74 has been in the shop once in the two years I've owned it. That was for new fuel lines, my total outlay for regular maintenance items and that repair has been about $500. I've been lucky but generally the aircooled cars are very reliable and pretty easy to work on. I would never say the 996's are bad cars but they definitely weren't what I was looking for in a 911. To each their own.

Hey, I had a 74 as well! I wished I could have afforded to keep it.
Anyway, I know what people mean about air cooled repairs. Mine had so much work done before I bought it and I had to just keep spending money on it. Here in Australia, the 85 Carrera and the 993 are the two most desirable. I would have to Agee. I am not a fan of the 996 at all. A good car for the money, but it's in between raw and modern. I have driven a 964 and a friend of mine has one. I didn't like it. I just love the 993, my cousin had one until he had kids and then bought an M3 and then an M5. |
