Side note William Sonoma has some of the best small appliances. Check out All Clad Belgian waffle maker or traditional round waffle maker. They also have some excellent batter mixes you won't find anywhere else.

You could also check out a bed bath and beyond they have a lot of choices and are not as expensive as William Sonoma.
I have this one from WS and it makes them quick and perfectly crisp exterior with light fluffy interior!

Perfect waffle!

I have the All Clad two slice.

Well, as I was making my rounds through the different types, I held up on the All Clad due to price and tried the Warring double first. I've been very happy with it and feel no need to try a different brand/type. But just yesterday, from my many inquiries I recieved a 45% off notice on the Williams Sonoma waffle iron...but then the website said the iron was no longer available. Just my luck.
Anyways, the Warring double is a great waffle iron and I do recommend it. But if you do want to try it, I also recommend you shop around at different stores for it because the prices have varied significantly. I found it for $69 as compared to the usual $99 at most places.

Waring does make a $99 & a couple different $69 waffle makers. All of them are available from bed bath & beyond; and if you look through your junk mail or sign up with bed bath beyond you can get 20% off coupons in the mail pretty regularly.
