What is Web ETK & what does it do?

My car is currently being built. I logged into BMW Web ETK and found buttons like "add" and "execute" in the parts kit section.

What the??? Can I actually change my order? I wouldn't have thought so considering the link is on the public BMW catalogue site, but I am intrigued by the existence of these buttons

By the way, I know that I can use it to verify the options being put on my vehicle as well as the production start date. As far as I can tell, it doesn't tell me the actual manufacturing status of the vehicle.
