What happens to the "used and abused" promo cars on Top Gear?
Who gets them? Do they go back home to be pulled appart and rebuilt?
Or are they sold as is?

they're promo cars....the same as what magazines and media use.....generally they stay within the company and are maintained by the companies and redistributed as 'demos'.
