Poll: 60's muscle or 80's Euro?

So I'm thinking about picking up a project car to mess with, but I'm having a tough time deciding what era to go with. Have my sights on a 2 dr. or 4 dr. '63 Ford Galaxie, or maybe a late 80's Volvo 240/780 or Saab 900.

Would you go 60's muscle or 80's Euro?

I've always LOVED the Bertone Volvo (780, not the 242). There is a white one I drive by every day that is just rotting into the ground in someones front yard. Breaks my heart...

What's even more sad is that a branch fell on it during Sandy and they have yet to remove it... nearly a year later. I would knock on the door and ask about it but the house is in worse condition than the car haha.

Seriously.....

'63 Galaxie HT with a big block FE

As much as I love 240 Turbo's and Saab 900's (had one of these) I'd go for the Galaxie in a heartbeat (or a similar year Dodge Polara/Plymouth Sport Fury HT with a big block wedge)

And if you've got a big hairy pair, you can do this with a 63/64 Galaxie - as seen last weekend at the Goodwood Revival

Update: Well I ended up picking up an '89 Volvo 780 Bertone with the 2.3 turbo. Figured it was time for a project and the price was right. It's a little rough around the edges but mechanically sound. Should be a fun project... Not looking to go crazy with a V8 swap or anything - just want to clean it up, drop it, and get all the electrical bits working properly.

Cool stuff! I always like seeing these kind of projects that I don't have the knowledge time or money for. Keep us updated on progress!

In the end, I realized I just didn't have the budget to find one that didn't have a ton of rust. Then the uniqueness of the 780 Bertone just won me over.

I'm sure you will be more than pleased with your purchase, and Id like to see the progress!

It is two different animals when it comes to not only picking one up in good condition, but the budget to make a Galaxie a road queen will probably end up costing a pretty penny more as well.
