It would probably definitely be a bad idea to visit Northeast PA, unless you're into exciting coal mining stripping pits, and old dilapidated buildings (and dreams )

Ha ha ha! I hate living here!

Why don't you try Vegas, or Miami, or even Aspen to do a little skiing in the Rockies? Doing a little shopping in Manhattan could be fun, even for guys, IF you've got the capital..

Since you live in So Cal you probably aren't interested anyway but I wouldn't go anywhere in Florida or pretty much any popular destination on the East Coast. The last 3 weeks in February are February vacation weeks for kids in the Northeast and everything is crowded and overpriced during that time.

If I lived that close I would definitely go to Vegas. If you want something more low key try Palm Springs. If you ski/board head to a ski resort in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, or New Mexico. Cabo is always a good time.

Do you snow ski? Could go to Whistler, BC, or one of the many resorts in Colorado or Utah. This year has been great for snow.
