The number of the tow truck company is pretty visible. Anyone could figure out where it's at and forward the photos to the local news agency.
I know I'd be super pissed if my vehicle was handled this way. That said, I'd also move my car in advance. |

Cops will probably just call it a civil matter.
I'd say that is negligent behavior. Even if it's posted not to park there, doesn't mean you should be the victim of property damage like that. The victims should get together, get estimates for the fix, and send it to the towing company and band together to sue if they don't pay.

I haven't met a tow truck driver that wasn't some ex-con or something from my area. The last tow truck driver that came to give me a tow a few years ago told me that he used to "boosts cars" back in the days, admittedly stole a few NSX's & that he could break into my car within 5 minutes if he wanted to. I didn't know how to respond to that so I just let the conversation die..
