1970's Bronco

Anyone on here have a 1970's Ford Bronco? I'm looking for something comparable and am not 100% sold on a Wrangler. I've always liked these Broncos and the parts support seems decent. This would be a weekend toy.

A coworker of mine has one. It's completely stock and looks fantastic. He literally has an offer from someone to buy it from him every time he's out with it.

That being said, it drives like a 1970s vehicle. That is to say, not that great. Brakes were definitely not a priority for vehicles around this timeframe. You have to plan ahead when you want to stop. Handling also is not its strong suit.

Let's put it this way: The Brono definitely will fill the nostalgia for you, but a Wrangler will drive like a modern vehicle and be a bit more reliable in the long run.

Saw a totally modded out Bronco out on the road the other day. Good old fashioned body, but all new bits. Really awesome. No idea how it drove though.

Good luck op as these are very desirable.

I was looking for one, but ended up with Jeep Wrangler Arctic edition in white. Reminded me of the 69-72 Broncs but with all the modern safety and convenience. Put the heavier springs in to give it an extra 2" lift.

Old cars are kind of like boats. They look like so much fun when you see someone else enjoying it but owning one yourself is a nightmare.

Yea, when I started to talk to some people and look closer at the pricing its a bit nuts. I didn't realize it but a co-worker has a '77 he bought new and its been garage kept since that time. He's a big Ford guy and said anything not completely rusted out will be pricey. Maybe the Wrangler would be the better call after all. I'd rather not get into a whole lot of body work. That gets expensive real quick.

As a ford guy myself the wrangler won't do it for you. Keep looking in Cali to hopefully find a rust free example. There are rumors that ford might bring back the bronco. I had a 97 and she was a beast.
