Canadian online radio
In Canada for a few more days and I'm dying here. While technically on vacation I'm spending a few hours on the laptop working and I usually have Pandora on in the background.
Well apparently Canada doesn't allow Pandora or Spotify. Currently playing last.fm but when I put in a station they play stuff very loosely similar and usually the stuff I don't like. It also stops streaming a lot since it's also playing the video and needs to dl more data. Canadians? Recommendations? |

If you have Sirius / xm, in the states, can't you sign up your mobile / computer?
If you don't have a subscription, then you are screwed, radio here generally sucks. I have satellite, and for the car that doesn't, I get a bunch of dl songs from my buddy every time I see him and just burn a few CDs (car doesn't have USB ). Best wishes...hope you are not a dentist, heard they are driven to kill themselves and the radio selections up here might just be the tipping point for you if you are a dentist... |

thanks for the suggestions.
I know there are ways around the local IP issues using a VPN but I'm already on a VPN to my office. Unfortunately it's into my EMR, not to a desktop where I can access a browser. Sucks that you guys don't have Pandora and Spotify. They are great services. |

I see... Then again it worked in 2011 when I worked somewhere with a Canadian VPN, so I don't know what to tell you in 2014

You can listen to the Edge 102.1 online, but honestly, it drives me crazy with all the talking...more music, less talking. But typically that's what I'll listen to if I'm forced to listen to a radio station.

This explains why Rush wasn't inducted into the RRHF till last year.

Another part of the issue is the lack of cable on the outskirts of Calgary and the satellite isn't very forgiving with large packets of data. The one I was listening to yesterday kept stopping. |

Try increasing the buffer settings.
