No more LANCER EVO?
Searched around and it seems like no one posted. With all due respect, the evo has been competing back to back with the sti for about 2 decades now in the rally department and now they are ceasing production of the legend? What do you guys think? Looks like Subaru must look for a new rivalry.

This isn't news. They said this like last year or the year before that production of the EVO would end this next MY. Mitsubishi supposedly is going toward an all electric car company. Good for them...gonna miss the EVO, but it was the ONLY good car they've produced over the last ~15 yrs. so I wish them the best of luck.

Who wants to spend $40k on a Mitsubishi? They have really gone downhill, while Subaru has run away with the North American Market.

Their problem is that the entire car company hinged on that one vehicle. I can't even name another model they make at this point. Similarly, Mazda is also floundering in this same land of limbo where nobody really knows or cares about their products. The Miata is a great car but it's also pretty stale and I can't imagine it sells very well. The 3 and CX are the only models that keep them afloat.
Short of a GT-R revamp, a new STI, or a new halo car, pretty much everything coming out of Japan suffers from the same "if a tree falls in the woods" type of attention.

I hope so.
I had an evo before my 335. Loved it. Car is crazy fun to zip around in. I don't know what the hell Mistu is thinking. They had the perfect "halo" car to work off of. They should have kept refining it more, along with their other cars, and keep trickling the tech down to the other cars. The jump from the 9 to the 10 was a great leap in this direction, then they abandon it!? Bastards. |

Mazda does have the new 6 which is a pretty nice sedan, and the new Miata just recently debuted, so I imagine its sales will perk up once it hits the showroom.

I enjoyed my Evo X MR. Had a 2014 for a year and sold it for what I got it for, minus mods. They held value very well, especially now.
The 2015's don't come with Recaro's anymore, so 2014 will be the year to get with a premium price to pay. |

If anyone's in the market for a beater, I suggest even looking at their base Lancers with stick. Sub-3,000 curb weight, relatively free-revving engine, and cheap MSRP. I had it, do regret selling it. It's not the most MPG-friendly and some might even call the interior "cheap" but it's light and a blast to beat the piss out of.

Sad to hear. Mitsubishi's golden days were when they had 1995-1999 Eclipse. Those sold really well.

Dam, I should've waited for FF7 to come out first.
