I think if you are really interested in sound quality versus a price point, you should check out Aperion www.aperionaudio.com - They make some great speakers.

I have a question for anyone that has DirecTV and a home entertainment system...How do you set it up so that the surround sound system works on the regular tv and not just when you play movies??

audio output from the DirecTV receiver into the pre/pro or receiver. Video out to the TV. If your pre/pro or receiver does video switching, you run it all to the receiver or pre/pro. Then take video out to the TV.

SVS PB-2+ is another great sub. I love mine! 120db at 16hz! Rattle the neighbors windows.
