Surprised nobody has mentioned Microsoft's augmented reality prototype
Hololens! This thing look friggen awesome! The possible applications are much bigger than mobile devices. It's all Tony Stark...except having to wear the dorky headset. This'll revolutionize porn!

I liked the demo... I can't wait to see it in real life. It reminds me of Demolition Man movie with their Sex helmets HA!

Hahaha- nah. You're not supposed to wear this bulky thing around all day any more than you're supposed to hold your laptop in front of you all day. That was the problem with Google Glass- you were supposed to wear it all the time (the other being it was just a screen on you face instead of an augmented reality projection)
You probably will see people using these instead of laptops at coffee shops and stuff though...and yeah...they're going to look kinda 'tarded waving their hands around, like a special-needs tai-chi class |

IMHO, things like this have a very limited consumer use... in fact most technologies in the past 5 years probably fall under the same category. I haven't seen a single consumer device released within the last 5 years that has any valuable use. There have been updates to previously existing devices... but nothing new and useful. At all...
Even processor speeds in computers have reached limits for home consumer products...

Hmmm...perhaps. I think this'll be great for a lot of work uses, but a bit more limited for consumer use. There could be some cool games though!
Some kid made this video in 2011. Maybe not so far-fetched pretty soon. |

That's what I do now but I bring a whole desktop setup. People look at me funny but I dont know if its because of the pr0n or because my old CRT monitor is really wide and I take up 2 of those small tables.

High school story: a group of buddies and I would always take one Mom's Volvo station wagon and cruise around town. We'd beat the crap out of it but those times are for another story. I don't know how/where/why Andy got his hands on a blowup doll haha but it was in the back seat of the Volvo. I hid below the windows in the back and had the doll waving to people and, of course, smiling her big 'O' smile.
