Motion sickness
I went on a fishing boat in the ocean today and I am so sick. I've been off the boat for like 4 hours and I feel like I'm rocking back and forth in my chair. I don't know why I agreed to go on the boat in the first place because I always get sick and end up just trying to sleep and not vomit, but I guess I just did it for my boyfriend. It was kind of fun anyways sort of, but I can't stop feeling sick. Is there any way to make it stop? Advil? lol

There's quite a lot of anti-motion sickness medication. Gravol is one of them. They even have modern versions that come in a topical "patch" form. The downside is that most of them induce drowsiness.

I fully understand your pain, as I usually kiss porcelain anytime I go on a boat. However, recently I started taking dramamine before boarding, and I'm starting to believe that this shit works! Not quite sure if it works after the fact, but if you can manage to get your hands on it, in the next little while, I'd give it a try...

This should clear in a few more hours. If you're still ill tomorrow, then you may have what is known as "mal de debarkment" i.e. persistent disequelibrium following a boat trip. It tends to be self-limited, i.e. it will go away within a few days. Dramamine is a good over-the-counter antihistamine which can help quite a bit. If that doesn't work, your physician can check you out and possibly prescribe Antivert (meclizine) which should help, though drowsiness is a major side effect. In the future, there are some products like scopalamine which might be used to forestall seasickness, (it was off the market for a while, but I think it's back). It has even more side effects, in some people. I hope you feel better. Now since we live in the USA... The above advice is intended solely as a friendly comment and not as bona fide medical advice. In no way is it meant to substitute from face-to-face consultation with your healthcare professional. Do not initiate any medical treatment without first contacting your doctor. All medical conditions are best addressed in real time, with full discussion of concomitant medical problems, allergies, past medical history, medications used and the indications, risks, alternatives and potential complications of such treatment. Feel for you. I struggle with that too. Another thing that helps is when you're on a boat and it's pitching with the waves - stay outside and keep your eye on the horizon. Motion sickness is caused by the brain's confusion between what the eye is seeing and what the inner ear is feeling. If you watch the horizon, your eyes will be reporting the up and down motion and will be in sync with your inner ear.
