Tourmaline Violet e46 M3

I didn't know people could get individual M3s in the U.S. I guess anything's possible if you have enough money.

There's a guy here in Phoenix with a Tourmaline Violet M3 coupe with gray interior.
I would never buy it; but it actually doesn't look bad in person.

my friend's father drives this exact setup.
not a fan ofthe purple, and by no means is this close to the "ruby black" in the bmw individual series.
yet again, he's a florist, so i guess he likes it

That would be me!

I saw the ad earlier today myself for the vert. I poke around the web looking for individual M3s, in particular Tourmalines. Found this thread and figured I'd post here. I usually hang out over at M3Forum. I emailed the seller hoping to get some better pics. Not quite sure that the color combo of TV/Cinn works to well... I know it would not have been my choice. I think my gray interior works perfect with the Violet.

Do you have a pics of it? Would be interested to see them. As of now, I've only seen pictures of 3 Tourmaline M3s, 2 coupes (including mine) and now this particular vert.

Tourmaline has a wide variety of colors. Usually, iron-rich tourmalines are black to bluish-black to deep brown, while magnesium-rich varieties are brown to yellow, and lithium-rich tourmalines are practically any color: blue, green, red, yellow, pink etc. Rarely, it is colorless. Bi-colored and multicolored crystals are relatively common, reflecting variations of fluid chemistry during crystallisation. Crystals may be green at one end and pink at the other, or green on the outside and pink inside: this type is called watermelon tourmaline. Some forms of tourmaline are dichroic, in that they appear to change color when viewed from different directions.

I'll pass on the violet, not really my taste.

They have so many nice shades of blue, why go purple?

No because sapphire is associated with blue, as tourmaline is with green.
