Car addiction
As nuts as this sounds, Ive just gotten a great deal on a 16 M4. I am waiting to hear from BMW as i'm planning european delivery around the Frankfurt auto show, day at the Nurburgring, Blancpain season finale, then across to the UK to visit the motherland. The crazy part is the array of cars that are in the garage. I just picked up an 07 SLK55 AMG for the wife that replaced a perfect 07 Mazda Miata and I also have a Cayman GTS that I built last July and picked up in late November. Obviously, I have plans to build a GT4 much later in the year but I couldn't pass this up. I will be replacing my Fiesta ST, which is a terrific car, just time to move on. M4 is basically a stripper, manual, YMB, and 19s, trying to keep the weight down. I considered ceramics but since im leasing the car, sticking with the steels. I'm somewhat stunned the standard equipment that I'm getting on the 16. This car stuff is addicting. The older I get the worse its getting....

Many of us here have similar addiction problems. At least it doesn't sound like you track your cars, so it could be worse.

As a matter of fact, I do track my cars!! Have logged many hours around various race tracks around the country and have even done some rallying in New Zealand and spent some time behind the wheel of a race car at the ring in the wet!!! I plan to track 4 times per year, maybe even with both cars, meaning GTS, at the same event. Since I don't race any more(Spec Miata) exercising these cars is the thrill I look forward to most. Time is the issue, wish I had more of it....

You will find an understanding support group in us. We "get it". Must be a very difficult decision for you every morning. Which keys to take. Lol! Have always been intrigued by the Fiesta ST. I almost got the Focus ST when it first came out, but I eventually took my deposit back from Ford, and walked across the street for an Mk6 GTI instead. Awesome lineup you have there! And it's a bit worrisome for a spring chicken like myself to hear that it gets worse with age. I was trying to fit all my "problems" in before my second child arrives. Guess that means no college money for them! |

You don't have a yacht tender to land the chopper on?

Thats next on my list of toys. My chopper lands easily aboard my yacht but my private jet wont fit obviously. Ill probably just have to buy a luxury aircraft carrier to accommodate my private jet marine landings.

Yep the Cayman ins pretty awesome. I upgraded the headers and the plenum.. To make it more stupid loud and fast. It helped the mid range. I'm in the same boat for the GT4... I wasn't happy when it was released. Just to make you feel better. They are extremely hard to get. The first 200 went to 918 owners. They were offered to them as well as the GT3 RS. Not really fair ... I guess Leno and Seinfeld will both get one. I'm on the waiting list for either a GT3 or GT4 ...
