Cool concept and direction that they've taken with this SuV, but I still like that boxed look. Now it just looks like everything else, it used to be so distinct. And is a 2 door....oh sorry 3 door?
But I have to admit the interior is wowow!! Very modern for the time. I wonder what the power output is going to be?

I'd say the LandRover has the worst build quality among all the "imports".
I remember I sat in a Range Rover in the autoshow a few years ago, and try to touch and feel the trims and pieces. And I remember I broke some pieces easily. The interior is so fragile and horrible build quality.

My wife had a Freelander and their was no way on earth I was going to keep that thing outside of the warranty period. Plus the fact that it took weeks to get an appointment to get something fixed. Probably because of all the issues everyone was having with them. We had the sunroof replaced 3 times, had electrical issues, 2 window motors went out, shifter cable broke and a few other issues. Nothing but issues for 3 years we owned it. They look nice but no way am I owing one again. I'm glad BMW sold them off.

This Range Rover concept was actually formed back in 01'. They then decided to turn it into a 4 door, thus the Range Rover Sport was born.
I guess they never completely scrapped the idea with the introduction of the CLS, X6 and Porsche 'Panamera' coming to the market. We'll just have to wait and see how a ton of 4-door coupes do on the market. 4-door coupe. I still laugh at the thought of that name. I guess oxymorons aren't so bad, eh? |

Please don't flame me, but I've had 5 Fords: '72 Pinto, '94 Ranger, '95 and '99 Taurus, and '00 Explorer. Except for the Pinto (because it was so old) none of them gave any problem whatsoever.
This is my first BMW - and it has been in the shop 3 times already (less than 2 years) Now - I know that BMW's reliability is better than Ford's - not judging by my own experience, but just plain historical statistics. If it were by my experience I'd no longer want a BMW, but don't worry - I'm smarter than that!!! |
