Picked it up about 2 weeks ago.

102k miles with 4 owners (counting me) and clean title

Proper pics to come later but thought I'd share a few quick iPhone shots

Aside from the front end which has always looked a little soft to me the e39 looks just as gorgeous today as it did when it came out; classic lines.

It's my favorite M5 of all time. Beautiful 5.0 liter V8. Plus, a manual! Congrats!

Immaculate!! What a nice addition to the stable.

Gotta get the brushed, cube aluminum or black trim though IMO.

Same car I sold to buy my M4! Great choice. I miss that V8 terribly. Google "timmay tips" and do the muffler delete. You won't regret it!!

Great taste and excellent find. I've been looking for a clean one for some time now but not much luck up north in Canada. So jelly.

I miss my E39 m5 with a passion. I had a used one when i was younger.

Like many purists, i'm more partial to the 540i M-Sport, but good luck finding one in great shape, regardless of cost.

I promised myself I'd keep this one stock.. But the exhaust note leaves something to be desired. I was considering what u mentioned or maybe an axle back. The timmy tips are just so much more reasonable from a price standpoint.

Couldn't agree more, subtle but classic lines. This and the e46 m3 have both aged very well.

The front end is a little vanilla. I'm just mad the bumper already had holes drilled for a front license plate

Thank you sir, it is in fine shape for the age.. First owner purchased it while living in Germany and kept all of the paperwork from purchase and service records while there, so I have a pile of purchase and service records but they are all in German ha

Good friend of mine used to have one that was his first car he tracked and he has had nothing but praise for the 540
