SCANS - BMW 850 CSI VS Aston DB7 VS Maserati 3200GT VS Ferrari 456GTA

From Classic & Sorts Car July 16 edition...

Always loved the 850 CSI and it would have been fantastic if they had produced the M8 with the McLaren F1 engine! 4 wheel steering and a V12 revised by the M division is not bad though!

I think the 8 series was one of the best BMW designs ever and has aged very gracefully indeed. For sure, a future classic!

Notice to current BMW designers: keep your designs simple and elegant and don't put too many badges and logos everywhere: a good designed car speaks for itself!

Can't wait to see the upcoming renaissance of the 8, but it's a hard act to follow...

Enjoy the read!

I always liked the 850i as well. But the sweet spot for me, was the 840i.

Likewise. When I was a kid, we lived in Belgium. In our apartment complex, someone had a dark green 8 series. It was my absolute dream car. Really wouldn't mind picking one up before prices sky rocket, but I don't have the room or budget for one

It's the maintenance that is scary with these beasts and also if electrics and electronics go wrong!
