First was great. Sequel looks just as promising...

Looks promising. I'm hoping the JR sequels don't get ruined by hollywood.
Never read the books but if they follow the same recipe they should be okay.

John Wick is another story though, an original screenplay that hollywood can really screw up with a sequel.
Can't remember the last movie I saw that had such accurately choreographed gun play.
Did not expect to love that movie like I did.

I struggled to watch the first one and will likely skip this one altogether. Generally I like almost all Tom Cruise movies but find the concept of him playing Reacher completely ridiculous.

Totally agree about John Wick. Not a big Keanu fan, but that was an awesome movie. It was a great part for him.

No he was fine in MI. I never watched the show or read a MI novel (if there is one). However, I read quite a few of the Jack Reacher books and it burned an impression of the character in my mind that will never reconcile with Tom Cruise.

Having read most of the books I agree that Cruise simply does not have the physical tools to play Jack Reacher. Reacher is physically intimidating in all of the books because he is massively huge.

I struggle with this too. I've read the whole Reacher series and they were all great, but sometimes a lot of the story hinges around his intimidation factor. I'm surprised they chose such a small actor to portray him in movies.
