Awww shucks. It was a very photogenic area of Seoul...especially at night.

Well I suppose they'll either:

1) rebuild an exact replica
2) convert that whole stretch of road to make space for a new condo highrise development at the side of the road.

wiki page says they will rebuild it at a cost of 21 million and it will take three years. It also says they have the arson in custody and he has admitted to the crime in writing.

The news said that the old man had been screwed by the gov't over the price of some land the gov't grabbed. Paid him just a third of what it was worth. Still doesn't excuse burning down a national treasure.

That old man's loss doesn't constitute a reason for him to burn down a $21,000,000 monument. Life sentence should be reasonable.

Wow, looks like all the grass was burned even around the building, or covered with dust when it collapsed. You'd think the no 1 national treasure would have a tad more security. It's like having no one on Liberty Island (where the Statue of Liberty is on) after 9 PM.

lol, its a fucking building get over yourself, white house could burn down(it has) and it wont be a huge deal(sure at first) its called rebuilding and this was just a tourist spot.

That is a national treasure. He destroyed something very dear to many people that is irreplaceable. The white house is only barley over 200 years old, that was 600..!

The government should hang that man in front of that smoldering building as a sign to all. Troubles in all, it does not give you the right to ruin others dreams, goals and treasures.
