Porsche went with EPS, but they didn't just mail it in with what ZF handed them, like BMW. Doesn't hurt that they have a lot less weight on the front tires than any BMW and need less assist though.

Perhaps this is all motivated by their dealing with big oil? I doubt they really have bleeding hearts for purists. It's always...I mean always about the dollar. Foreign and domestic.

Ive had the exact opposite experience. All our jeeps have had a Fuck ton of serious mechanical and electrical problems. All under 20k miles. But I know this is random.

This looks like an awesome SUV but I hate the interior quality. It's a beast though.

Hate the big JEEP logo on the steering wheel, looks cheap.

I'd prefer a Dinan tuned X5M personally.

Ordered a '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8. Logged 200 days in service in two years, all drive train related but not the same thing 3 times so no go on the lemon law. Dealer wouldn't do anything to make it right, nor would Chrysler. After writing a letter to the Attorney General, Dept of Consumer Affairs got Chrysler to buy it back -they also gave me $10K. Had Chrysler done the right thing by me initially, they would have had a customer for life.

Hello 2001 BMW. I'm on my 7th BMW and haven't had as much dealer time combined in 16 years. I would never consider a Chrysler product again.

I do give credit to the American auto makers for getting back in the game.

Pretty cool. Wish they had named it the Tomahawk though. Trackhawk? Meh.

My parents bought a new 1995 Grand Cherokee (equipped with an I6 and 4x2) and had it for about 15 years. Over 200k miles and it only really started to give them troubles after that. Mainly the heater core kept leaking water into the passenger side foot area.

Every model of any brand will spend time at the dealer, some more than others. But it just depends on if you're the lucky soul that purchased that vehicle.

I know it's the luck of the draw. But like I said, if Chrysler did the right thing they would have had a customer for life.

This isn't the model for "most people." They also make a $30k version of the same car for those who can't afford the 707hp version.

Well I went to the NYAS specifically to see it and get pricing, ordering info, etc. None of the talking heads had any info whatsoever. All I got was some lame brochure with pics while waiting for some loser who has no intention of buying one find/remove his kids from playing in it.

I think you may have misunderstood the purpose of these auto shows.

You're better off going to a dealership if you're really that serious about buying one. They might not have any additional info (forums ALWAYS know more than dealers) but you can definitely have a more relaxed environment in which to check out the car and they would have the ordering info and pricing you desire. It's an international auto show FFS, not a private salon...

Auto Shows are generally never the place to find info on prices or ordering. Especially for something like this.

You're better off going to a dealer or keeping an eye on the Manufacturers website or even a forum dedicated for the vehicle.

An Auto Show is what the name implies, an Auto Show. An event for the manufacturer to show off or unveil something new.

Trackhawk forum has been useless as well as the two dealerships I visited. Internet sleuthing is more productive, but that's as reliable as a 90K mi M3 running the original rod bearings

I could have saved you the cost of the plane ticket. All available information will appear here before anywhere else. Milous works at FCA and is the most reliable source I've ever come across on any forum: http://www.jeepgarage.org/f237/2018-...ad-104697.html

Haha, thanks. Familiar with Milous. As for the plane ticket, was already at my house in NJ so it was only a 40 minute ride to the Javits Center for the show.
