If you're looking to save money, why are you going to sell your 335 and buy a brand new Mazda 3? You're going to take a loss on both of these cars and more so on two cars.
If you're object is to save money, then you should either keep the 335 and trade or sell it when the new car comes out. Buying a new Mazda 3 for such a short amount of time will see a pretty significant loss in value. If you REALLY want to save money, sell the 335 and buy a beater car. Something that someone else has taken the major hit on depreciation.

Have you been in both? Comparing the 3 S GT to a Civic Si does not go at all well for the Honda. Struggle to think of one part that's better in the Honda. I'd actually say many parts of the Mazda interior are nicer than our LCI F30.

Knowing how indecisive I am I might also buy the 335 after the lease is up and slap a Pure stage 2 on it

It's definitely more Spartan inside and far from fast, but a manual Fit isn't a bad purchase and they hold resale better than anything in the sub $30k crowd.

It's a really good looking car imo, especially the hatchback. Having driven one, I'm glad I didn't buy one. The clutch feel is super light and the shift linkage isn't knotchy.

Yeah, I came from an E36/8 which had a super dumb clutch even with the CDV delete was still notchy. But yeah, the Mazda was somehow even worse. It does make me wonder if the 2.5L is better with an automatic, even if that seems sacrilegious.
