Roy Halladay - dead at 40
Hate just about everything about Philly...but got to admit, he was one of the best (okay, in reality, he was a Blue Jay)
Apparently they just acknowledged that his plane crashed in the gulf about 30 minutes ago. 40 years old. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2...sh-gulf-mexico

RIP Roy Halladay
2 time Cy Young award winner and sure fire Hall of Famer died today at the age of 40 as the plane he was piloting went down in the Gulf of Mexico. He played 12 seasons for the Blue Jays and 4 more with my beloved Phillies. I feel honored to have watched him, in person, pitch at the apex of his career. He was truly special. The baseball world is in mourning because of how good of a human being Roy was. He'll be sorely missed.

I was at my sisters house back in the early 90s when he entered the game as a September call up and almost threw a no hitter against the tigers. RIP Roy, not only he was a great pitcher, he was even a better human. I was privileged to watch him throw for 12 years here in the Jays uniform and never forgotten his humility.

I used to only buy tickets to Jays games he was pitching, he played with the Jays for 12 years even though we sucked and signed a one day contract at the end of his career so he could retire as a Blue Jay, RIP Doc.
