for the amex users, what is the best way to get maximum value using points?

ultimately, i simply want to cash out but the only way i found is to buy gift cards which have horrible rates.

fwiw, my chase reserve has an amazing cash back option deposited to bank at 100 pts/ $1 or 1.5x on travel among many others.

For Amex points, converting to airline miles is the way to go. They rob you on just about everything else.
