Would you rather your team's rival continually get to the championship only to lose or be a perennial bottom feeder?

not quite sure what the 2nd part means. I don't get the trade-off. Who's the perennial loser, your team or the rival?

I'm going to guess this pertains to Michigan's basketball run? lol

Bottom feeder. If my team beat my rival 100-0 every time we played (any sport) I'd love it!

I understand now. What makes a good rivalry is balanced wins/loses with the rival. When it swings wildly to one side for an extended time, it does lose it's luster. And I'm saying this as a Michigan Wolverines hater.

It's a constant tug of war in my head. Part of me kind of want them to be successful, just so we can beat them every year. Part of me also love watching them lose to Appalachian State and having that to hang over them everytime you talk smack.

Talking about your rival and no I think I posted this after UVA lost to UMBC. I don't really have a favorite team so I end up cheering for a friends team while they are bad and then cheer against them when they get close to winning anything significant.
