I think VH1 said VCRs cost over $20,000 in 1977. They even had a really nice wooden case.

Ha ha, sorry to joke about your post. I just can't see spending that much on the system, especially when you know they're going to come down in price after the demand falls.

But that's ok, I've always been a PC man, anyway. I'll wait for the play station games to come on PC versions. I'd just wait and play them then. I can't get used to a joystick/controller. I've been with a keyboard and mouse too many years.

$600 still sounds reasonable to me. I'd buy it as a Blu-Ray player (which retails for $1,000).

I think some of us will be surprised how many people are willing to blow $600 on a PS3. Remember when the Xbox360s were selling for $1000 on Ebay?? What a waste of money. The freaking games cost a fortune as well. Eh well, it doesnt affect me in any way cus I dont play video games anymore...hehehe

i hope its more like a $1000. so those damn kinds wont buy up all of em and we have to wait another 6 months after the release to get our hand on it.

anywho its funny how these video game companies LOSE money on every sale of their system. i think for the xbox 360 they lose around $150 a unit or something like that. they just make it up in the long run with license fees and stuff. i wonder how much the playstation 3 is gonna cost sony, seeing as how theyre selling blu-ray (expensive) technology. (and what a gamble it is also. if everyone goes with HD-DVD instead of blu-ray sony could be in big BIG trouble.)

$600 for a blue-ray player is not bad when normal players are 1000. But from a gamer perspective you'd have to be pretty hardcore to get one.

Not confirmed yet...still alot of speculations but it looks like damage modelling will finally be intergrated. Even if GT5 workes out to be an evolution of GT4 it'll still be awesome...I wonder if my Logitech DFP wheel/cockpit setup still apply or I have to buy a whole new set up? Also I hope BMW will be better represented...

Speaking of the DFP wheel/pedals - hopefully the PS3 is so advanced that Logitech can throw in a clutch petal and include forcefeedback on the gearbox so that people can now do clutch slipping!

Oh man...I've been dreaming about that...also heel and toeing, we'll see... When GT5 comes out I might have to take another coupla days off just as when I received GT4 (1st batch)
