I drove by some Nissan dealers on the way to dinner today... there was one sitting in each showroom
I believe they go on sale tomorrow in Japan and at MSRP... no markup... but a waiting list. My neighbor is kind of high up at Nissan.. I wonder if he can hook me up.. I would consider even a slightly abused press car. I've talked the wife into taking a look at them tomorrow. I keep telling her that it's a SIN not to own a GT-R while living in Japan. The practical side of me says to wait for the M3 sedan... but man is it tempting. Black GT-R in black edition couldn't be meaner. Also it's only about $71-75k depending on the exchange rate and edition. |

Got back from the Nissan dealer.
Man that thing looks mean in gunmetal gray. I was a little disappointed in the rear seats.... not as bad as a Porsche but definately not for adults. But the interior makes the standard interior M3 look cheap. I love the way that Nissan decided not to nickel and dime you to death. Almost everything is standard. I would bet that a US M3 optioned similarly will equal the price of the GT-R. One bit of info to dispell the rumors... the wait list is not that long in Japan. The dealer told me I could order one today and pick it up in 3 months.. of course I live 30 min away from the Yokohama plant. My take is.. if you want a coupe.. and don't care too much for the rear seat.. the GT-R is the better choice. I need a 4 door... still waiting on the M3 sedan list. |

4 GTR's supposed to show up here in Brentwood, TN, in the next couple weeks, for the local Nissan NA engineers to play with. I hope to see them driving around town!
Gotta remember the last name of that Nissan engineer neighbor... |

I want a black one.
Because it looks great. And because then people might not recognise it so easily, and at night they may not be able to see me at all. Just kidding. Awesome car. |
