Albon 58 points
Verstappen 39 points
Albon has been in F1 for 5 mins and Verstappen 5 years.
Albon hasn't even raced at some of the tracks.
The kid wants to be careful otherwise Verstappen will veto his position at Red Bull for next year.

Does Verstappen actually has that right?

I would be very surprised if that is the case. With both Red Bull teams the drivers normally has no input in any driver decisions.

But yes, Albon has impressed me massively. He seems to be a very level headed young guy as well. I reckon he, Lando, Carlos and Max will be the main players in the championship in the future.

Max said he wants a team mate that will push him like RIC did.

Sounds like a back handed douche comment that Gasly and Albon are slow. Atleast Albon is scoring more than him, since he can't seem to get through a race without an incident.

Since his new teammate joined after the break, it's the only comparison to make right now until they both have a full season together to compare.

Doesn't mean that it will always be like that, but the last 6 races Albon has outscored max in terms of points. You don't get points for poles, or crashing or DNFs

There's a ton of luck in racing, and Max has had absolutely zero of it since the break. Imho there's simply no comparison between the two, Max is far superior.

Take on board what I also said that he's not fighting his teammate and the thread is just another attempt to downgrade VER over a short period as revenge for him having some bad luck.

All drivers say something along the lines of wanting a driver that will push and challenge them. Its the politically correct thing to say PR wise.

I wouldnt necessarily say he has had zero luck since the summer break.

Spa - he made a mistake that took him out
Monza - planned PU change
Singapore - no issues, finished on the podium
Russia - Planned PU change in preparation for Japan, so the qualifying penalty was expected
Japan - this one was rather unlucky for him
Mexico - qualifying penalty was his fault, race incident could go either way (his own fault or unlucky with positioning his car)

So out of the last 6 races, I would argue he was unlucky in only one. And let's not forget Albon took PU penalties in two of the races as well.

That being said, I do think its too early to make a call on who is better based on just 6 races. Next year will be the true test assuming his contract at RB is extended.

Other drivers are aware of him, it's not all about not being lucky after the break.
Some of it is luck, some of it is his attitude.

Either-way, if he ever wants to be a world champion he needs to act like one. Even if he was in the fastest car on the grid, it wouldn't have mattered if he can't score points.
