Eibach PROKIT Issue
Hello guys, i'm finding out that as soon as i load more than 4 peoples in my car (325D station wagon) my 19" wheel touches the fender in the REAR side.
I DO have prokit from eibach, so -2.5 cm around in back side and same in frontside.. I don't really know what to do.. I bought as well 4 bilstein B8 in order to change suspension, do you think that this is going to fix the problem or is it better to put back original springs? Thx a lot |

What trim/spec was the car originally : SE, M-Sport ?
How does Eibach measure that reduction in ride height : from SE or from M-Sport ? 2.5cm lowering from M-Sport might simply be too much. Are you still running OEM dampers ? If so, they may not have the damping resistance to control the chassis movement when the car is loaded. The ride height for my car with Ohlins R&T, along with 12mm spacers and 265 rear tyres, means that there is the slightest contact between the outer tyre shoulder and the arch liner, BUT, I didn't even know it was happening until the suspension shop pointed it out. The Ohlins R&T setup is pretty stiff, so it may be that your current dampers and spring rates are just not preventing your car from reaching the bottom end of its suspension travel.

Actually at home I have some dampers with lower stand, that are made to work with eibach prokit (it's bilstein B12, it's pretty famous here in Europe). Another thing that i thought about is that i have also some WSP Basel metal gun with very low ET value (19 inch and 255 at rear tire, i dont remember exactly the ET value) , so maybe this is also one of the reason why my rear tire are touching the fender. However I really don't want to put back the original springs and i would like to try to use the new dampers I bought last weekend. Changing dampers can affect also the height during corner with full load of the car? I tired them not mounted and they seems to be much stiffer than original.. The fact is that i'm really afraid to brake the tires due to friction with the internal fender/arch of wheel.. Thx in advance, Francesco |

What Eibach Pro-kit part number do you have?
Do you want a higher rear spring rate, or do you just want a higher rear ride height?

sounds like your wheels are the wrong offset. Do you have specs for your wheels (not tires)?

Do you have a url to the wheel? And how wide is it? (wheel width, for instance 9.5" ?)

If you just want to raise the rear ride height you can make cheap kydex shims/spacers to place in or on the rear spring cups like I did once. Dampers aren't really going to change a whole lot, and the method by which they would (high gas pressure) negatively affects ride quality.

So I guess either new wheels or get the uprated springs mentioned above (but then your car won't look as good since it's taller).

How much camber are you running? I ran 275/35/18 tires on an 18x10 +40 wheel with a full car and trunk before without any rubbing issues with a stock spec alignment. I was low on KW V1s at the time as well.

Around 40mm in the rear probably.

@francesco4988 - My next best guess, contact the local BMW dealership and ask for a body shop (car frame repair) referral. That should work - hopefully one is nearby.
