Stroll seems very up and down in his performances....he has finished well a few times and actually out scored Perez in points in the 2019 season.
So not a complete dud...doesn't crash that often...and he is still relatively fairly new in F1.
But he isn't anyone's top tip for future champion..the youtube guy is right in that 2020 will seal Strolls reputation....if he can up his game then maybe he can hang in for a couple more seasons.

Great overview of STR's CV; on paper, he has some great achievements; in F1, he continues to improve (less DNF's, less bumper cars, etc); it's obvious that the very sharpest end of the grid has the steepest climb to the top, but he is holding his own in the middle of the grid; his lineage (money) hasn't hurt his climb to F1, but being surrounded by money has often been a chance for a seat in F1.

Any time something like this happens, you definitely wonder, but I think his performance is at the Formula 1 level. You can’t just strap anyone into one of those cars and get the results he gets. He’s not top shelf, but he isn’t coming in dead last tens of laps down either. He’ll just never win and maybe they don’t care, it’s just for fun because the family has money to burn. He’s currently 15 of 20 drivers in the standings.

He gets a bad rap because he's there because of dad's money. There are lot's of drivers that have bought their way into F1..... so that's kinda a double edge sword.

Anyway, there are better drivers than him that don't have seats in F1 for some reason or another. You be the judge.

Perez actually outscored Stroll in 2019 (Perez best Norris to 10th in the standings).

But Stroll is actually very good at picking up places on the opening lap of a race. If he can improve his single lap pace, he could be more a regular contender for points. Also, he seem's to be relatively good in the rain.

But I agree that next year could be a make or break year for him, especially if he doesn't improve his qualifying form.

I think I got the idea from an article from mid season where Stroll was indeed ahead of Perez on points after the German GP.
