Racing simulator set-ups
Buddy of mine gave me an out of date Sparco seat to use from his old race car for a racing simulator setup so we can play forza 7 together at night. The one sim setup i tried was a pretty flimsy frame and not very good feeling. I would love to design one in cad and have my friend cut it out on a plasma table but he doesn't have time to design it.
Post up your cockpit and pedal set ups. I definitely want 3 pedals that are adjustable and a shifter/handbrake and also moveable as this will be in my bonus room

I will eventually get a full cockpit for my racing sim but for now it's a desk with the steering wheel screwed in and a normal chair with the gliding pads on the bottom. I recently put in load cell pedals so it does push me a back a bit but the carpet prevents the chair from moving back.
Look at these two forums https://www.racedepartment.com/forum...-hardware.159/ https://www.isrtv.com/forums/

Consider a T500RS, I own one and bought it several years ago in a bundle with a F1 steering wheel.
Not cheap but very durable and hence I use my desk also for work it must be removable it from time to time.

Do you guys have any recommendations on adding additional USB ports? With VR and rest of the sim parts it seems impossible to get it done bc no peripherals as far as I know like USB hubs. Just got the TH8A shifter and I have no USB ports to plug it into.
Some are even USB 2.0 only and cause crashing in 3.0 ports.

Some mainboards are capable to have some added USB 3.0 hubs onboard. Just buy a seperate hub and plug them on the board, find a slot into the tower and you're done.
Or use this one here for PCIe slots.

My setup is the S1 model. You can add attachments to support everything you want. The have 2 other models, the RS1 and N1 to choose from as well.

View post on imgur.com I went with a pre-built unit GT Omega. I have a Fanatec CSL and it holds up fine but if I went with anything higher Force feedback I'd need something sturdier. If you want something sturdy then look into 80/20. Just google 80/20 sim racing they will have a bunch of setups and tutorials on building it. I race in VR and USB ports were an issue. My PC is a little newer so it had a USB-C port so I bought a $10 usb dock on Amazon that works perfectly. If anyone races on Iracing, AC or ACC hit me up. |
