1st Financial Bank USA Credit Card

Hey guys, I'm curious if any of you college and university students out there have a credit from this company. I'm not promoting this company or anything, the reason why I am curious is because today I received a nice fat statement in the mail from 1FBUSA showing my balance to be near $1,200.00, but the strange thing is that I have always carried a balance of $0... and I also chopped up this credit card back in October/November 2007!!

Another weird thing, last month of January, 1FBUSA called me asking if I changed my personal address to some address in Ohio, I told them no, I've stayed in Los Angeles all my life. They changed it for me, but they couldn't figure out who changed my credit card's personal info address to some place in Ohio.

So I'm getting a little skeptical that someone used my credit card for fraudulent purposes...

sounds like identity theft for me, get a copy of ypur credit report right away...

I have 1FBUSA Ive been with them for about 2 years now and I was actually a victim of credit card fraud when someone some how got my credit card number and bought a first class ticket from NY to Miami and stayed 1 night in one of the best hotels on the beach. I dont know how this happened but 1st financial bank gave me my money back, the funny thing is that the amount was also $1,200.

man, i always get offers from these guys for a credit line, but i never really hear about them so i always toss thier mail

yeah you need to get a full credit report and go over everything. report everything that looks suspicious and put an alert out on your social security number.

this will cause a few speed bumps for you when you apply for new cards/loans but it's only to protect you.

Make sure you file a "Fraud alert" on Experian.com/Transunion.con/Equifax.com (one of the three).

I have that credit card, and have had it for about 5 years.

Positive: Low interest rates, $17k credit limit, longer grace period, an option to carry a balance, but pay nothing once every other month (of course, interest continues).

Negative: Customer service does not work on weekends, nor after 6pm on weekends.
