M Carbon Bucket Seats okay for a daily driver?
Just curious, are the carbon seats practical as a daily driver? Anyone know how comfortable they will be? or are they just meant for people driving as a weekend car for short distances?

They look pretty comfortable but my concerns are such:
1) that carbon bit between the legs... will it be too tight for someone with athletic, bodybuilder-type legs like myself? 2) no ventilation option (not needed but I do like this option for humid NJ summers) 3) Ingress/Egress for passengers like my parents... I'm fine with it, but transporting older adults might be difficult as they need to climb over those large side supports. YMMV

Porsche carbon-buckets are very comfortable. Been in them for hours with no issue, but getting in and out is much more difficult.
The M3 sits much higher so this might alleviate that issue. The main reason I would want them, is it makes the backseat even more roomy and I will have kids & passengers in the backseat often. And they look cool. Anyone know how much for US? |

IMO they are a must. It looks like they don't sacrifice adjustability. They will also extend rear seat room. In the aftermarket they will likely be highly sought after.

Personally I love thigh extenders for comfort so if I was in the market for this m3 I would probably get the stock seats, unless the buckets were really comfortable. I'm sure on the used market people will prefer these.

definitely a must have option. I spent crazy amount of money on my Giulia to retroactively install the Carbon seats. Not doing that again. Ordered performance seats on my C63S and will do the same here if I pull the trigger

The seats are a $4,000 Canadian option. So $3,000 US

I think if you get them simply because they look cool, you may be disappointed. Just like many people get an M car and say "boy, what a rough ride, I hate this". I think they should be a good bit easier for ingress/egress and finding a comfortable spot due to the seats adjustability... something obvious lacking in a fixed bucket seat... of course you lose rigidity by making it adjustable. Also length of trip probably matters a lot. I recently heard a 19yo complaining about the fixed buckets in GT3 on a ~2h drive to the track. they do look cool, but I'd make sure you can at least tolerate them on a showroom before ordering...

It is marvelous that these CF seats come with seat heating. Great for people living in colder climates where this is a must and does not compromise on the seats they can get.
Also if they're indeed $3K, that is fantastic! Porsche CF buckets are $5.9K. Gues BMW has really industrialized the CF process.

I am a huge fan of the CS seats (competition seats) and would never want to go back to a less supportive seat even for daily driving. The standard seats look less supportive than the base F8x seats to me (although I could be wrong).
My only issues with the carbon seats is that, as I have an early allocation (2nd at my dealership), I will never see them before I have to make a decision. If they are less than comfortable, I'll be stuck with them for 3 years at a minimum.
