Not since covid, but have plenty of family still there in the old country. One my aunts went back recently (dual citizen). From what I understand you’ll need to quarantine for 14 days, where you’ll have a choice between a few hotels. I also understand that you’ll need a mobile phone where you’ll need to install a quarantine app. Basically it’ll make sure you don’t break quarantine. You’ll also need a certificate that you don’t have covid-19 which you’ll get a test once you land. Once done with quarantine there is another app that you’ll need for when/if you go to “higher” risk places like bars and restaurants. Basically you have to scan a QR code for contact tracing. Once you complete the 14 day quarantine you’ll still need to distance and wear a mask. Expect to pay about $1500-2000+ for quarantine depending on how nice of a hotel you choose to stay at.
Not sure how familiar you are with SK, but in terms of covid compliance it’s not like the US. Break a rule (even something as simple as not wearing a mask correctly) and they’ll put you an a plane back here. Apparently someone in the hotel my Aunt was at, attempted to leave before 14 days and they were escorted to the airport. They are strict on this and take covid extremely seriously. Also, they don’t really grant exceptions. My aunt was there for a funeral and had to miss the service. |
