This is ridiculous. Can you imagine any other car company doing this?
-The problem here is that Tesla is asking the customers to call their bank rather than assisting on their end. Slattery is hardly alone. He said a Tesla employee at the Burbank store and service center said, in his presence, that hundreds of customers were experiencing the same issue with duplicate charges. Meanwhile, his bank told him it could take a minimum of 10 days and up to 45 days potentially to get a refund processed on their end. And it would be faster to handle things through Tesla. As much as this will piss off those affected you just know they’re getting another one when the time comes even though the other luxury carmakers are pumping out their own EVs.

I read the article and still don't understand it. When I do an ACH I authorize the payment from my account to their account, not like the company I am paying can ask for a double payment. I would immediately call my bank and ask who authorized the double payment from my account as it wasn't me.
Next, surprised anyone leaves $110k in the checking account, I don't partly for reasons like this (people have direct access to my money through checks, debit card, etc.) and partly as it is a poor place to leave cash as an investment. Makes me laugh - "He says, “They told me to call my bank and have my bank reverse the charge. That was not acceptable. When you debit more than $50,000 and tell a customer to solve it on their own? I kept pushing.”" --------Ok, I guess there's an easy way and a hard way and you are without your money taking the hard way.
