Yeah but still I miss the rawness and kicking that I used to get from dct in my m6gc. My current M5 transmission is probably as fast but again doesn't have a race car feeling.

I really love the G8x interior, but I am really not a fan of the "gauges". I get that they are tolerable but don't know anyone who genuinely likes them. Fingers crossed for a software update.

Otherwise I hereby predict the M2 will NOT have the bucktooth grille, but WILL be quite a bit heavier.

Imagine how great this car will be if they don't go with the buck tooth grill and it gets the carbon bucket seats in the G8x. 6MT with a carbon fiber roof??? Yes please

The only other BMW I'd buy to replace my F82

From what am seeing so far, both front and rear lights are not aggressive enough for me on the new 2series/m2, the rear brakes look cheap, the car does not look special like the M2&M2C, I don't know why BMW trying to make the new M2 like the Z4.

Why would it be 4000lbs?! Per BMW, Xdrive on G80 only adds 95lbs.

Imagine a ~3500 lbs AWD G87 with upgraded turbskis S58, making 1000HP and all the grip to terrorize the streets? Sign me up!

Wife can't drive stick, and DSG/PDK/DCT has always been the compromise for us. Torque converter / ZF8 is a non-starter.

The things BMW has been doing the last couple years are just pushing us more and more to Porsche. Even the interiors of the new cars are garbage and are filled with cheap shiny plastics. The switches on the center panels feel like crap in the new cars and have no travel.

The list goes on and on. It's very sad.

Couldn't agree more. I've always been an apologist for the brand, and I've bought BMW/M almost exclusively for 20 years now, but I'm feeling pretty disenfranchised as a customer, especially on the sports car front.

I'm going to hold onto my M3CS as long as possible - that car is wonderful, but if I was in the market for a new car today, I'd be looking at Porsche.

I keep seeing this over and over again. I'm a big Porsche fan too, but which ones would you be looking at in this price range?

  • Most options will be the same as G80/G82, and I don't see much of that decontenting that was done with the original F87 compared with F80/F82. Though ceramic brakes and bucket seats seem to be missing, all the drivetrain and suspension things are the same as G82, and even carbon roof will be an option.
  • The wheels will be 19" front and 20" rear, G87 specific design.
  • The first four months of its production will fall into the "M 50th anniversary" period so expect the initial run to become somewhat collectible.
  • And the new dashboard will be standard from day one.

This recipe with the dashboard shown below would be 👌. Where can I place a pre-order now for this version of the future?

BMW would be thinking wrong if they think ZF8 brings more customers to the M2 platform than DCT, they already lost 3 from my side. Then again, one ZF8 sold probably makes more profit than 3 DCTs sold.

Optimistic! I'm expecting 6-speed, CF roof, adaptive suspension, S58, better interior (including HUD), and improved steering, ride, grip & handling, based on what BMW accomplished with G80. This will be my F80 replacement.
